Happy Halloween from
Emily Simon Photography!
I always try to make the photography session easy and have little to no pressure for the younger children. You want these early sessions to go well so that there is no bad stigma on portrait sessions. Especially so that the next time you, as a photographer, take their photo the child assumes its going to be a lot of fun and that it will involve exploring and talking and singing and dancing. Because that is what children love to do! Plus, fun and candid shots are much more interesting than posey, fake-smile pictures. This 3 year session with Finley was exactly what I aim for with young children. Even though the weather wasn't even close to ideal, we had a blast. AND the entire time that I edited these photos Taylor Swift's Shake It Off was on repeat in my head. Here is a look at my favorites! Also, props to Stephen for walking in cold creek water to the perfect photo spot. He also stayed very close at hand to keep Finley safe.
I had such a great time a few weekends ago taking Michael's senior pictures. Even if it was a cold day and I had an unfortunate slip into a creek, I had the best time taking these photos. Also, I think that the pictures turned out better than anyone could have hoped given the weather and my clumsiness. Here is a gallery of my favorites from the session, but I loved them all! Also, here is a gallery of the high school sweet hearts, Michael and Nikki. They are such an adorable couple! Most of the time I am blessed with clients who have access to great locations like the creek below. It was the perfect spot for the senior session I did this weekend!
